Get spoiled! (Some Fate Reforged Spoilers)

Christian with wizardden.com here to talk about cards spoiled from the upcoming set Fate Reforged! Pre-Orders for Boxes and Cases are now up! With the small set coming early this year that means we have spoilers already, no more introduction, lets jump right in!

This is Ugin. He is a spirit dragon. I have to say I am not all that impressed with him. Sure, Lightning bolt on a 'walker's plus ability is exceptionally good. I just don't like these over the top colorless walkers. I should mention I didn't like Karn either. The minus is also very, a pernicious deed on a stick of sorts. I am sure he will find a place. The format is all midrange and hornet queen is hard cast on a regular basis and minus for zero kills all the tokens so it will find a home. Where? Your guess is as good as mine...

Yaaaaaaay! A dragon! We all knew dragons were coming and this guy is pretty sweet. Two color legendary is not what we were expecting but I'll take it. With these Rakdos-colored dragon comes a new mechanic, Dash. Dash is kind of like splice onto arcane but for creatures. Instead of throwing him out there for his normal cost, you can pay the Dash cost and he gains haste but returns to your hand at the end of your turn. I see him being dashed more often than not. With sarkhan and Stormbreath in the format as strong five drops for red decks I can't say he will get a lot of love, but he's around and we are better for it.

Hey! Necrotic Ooze meets Tombstalker! This guy gains the ability of all creatures delved to cast him. That's neat in theory but with Whip of Erebos in almost every deck in standard, delving away dudes is not what standard players are wanting to do. With that being said I think he is really sweet but unless wizards gives us a good answer to whip I don't think he will be seeing love in standard.

Okay, this card is weird. It showcases the new mechanic "manifest". So if I understand correctly,  it allows you to play the top card of your library as a 2/2 Morph creature. That's sweet. If you have a courser you can turn unwanted draws into ground beaters or cheat creatures into play a turn early for only a few more mana to play and flip. I don't know if this card will see play but the mechanic seems very good in limited and possible constructed play.

Going to finish up with another new mechanic displayed here "Bolster". Bolster loves big butts and loves making them! So, depending on the bolster number, it gives your creature with the lowest toughness(Butt) X amount of +1 Counters depending on the shown bolster amount. Kind of neat.
That's all for now,
Untill next time.
